It is very common to find the fried chicken in the streets in the Philippines. I thought I would share with you how I make my fried chicken. I always love good fried chicken.
Ingredients
For this recipe, you will need:
- Chicken thighs, skin and bone-in
- Egg
- Fish sauce
- All-purpose flour
- Cornstarch
- Salt
- Paprika (optional)
- Ground black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Baking powder
- Oil for deep frying
HOW TO MAKE THIS RECIPE
- Beat the egg and the fish sauce together lightly in a bowl.
- Marinate the chicken with the egg mixture for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder, and baking powder.
- Heat oil for frying.
- Dip the marinated chicken one at a time into the flour mixture. Shake the chicken slightly to remove excess flour.
- Place the chicken in the heated oil and fry the chicken until golden brown.
- Serve and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce.

What to Serve with the Chicken
You can serve this crispy fried chicken with your favorite dipping sauce, ketchup, or gravy. In the Philippines, fried chicken is always eaten with rice. In Canada, fried chicken is eaten with french fries. This dish can also serve with vegetables or salad.
Storage and Freezing Instructions
Place the leftovers in an airtight container. It can stay in the fridge for 4-5 days or up to 3 months in the freezer.
