    Minatamis na Saging

    This plantain banana in syrup also called Minatamis na Saging is a sweet banana dessert perfect for ice cream topping or eaten by itself.

    INGREDIENTS

    • Plantains, ripe
    • Water
    • White sugar
    • Salt
    • Vanilla
    • Extra water for brushing sides of the pan

    HOW TO MAKE THIS RECIPE

    1. Peel plantains and cut diagonally. Set aside.

    2. In a saucepan, melt sugar and salt in the water on medium heat. Bring it to a boil, then let it simmer for 10 minutes. Do not stir the liquid.

    3. Brush the side of the pan with water occasionally to keep the sugar crystals from forming.

    4. Add the plantains and vanilla into the pan. Let it simmer for another 10 minutes.

    5. Remove from heat then serve alone or with ice cream. Enjoy.
