    Beef Ribs Sinigang with Lemon

    Beef Ribs Sinigang with Lemon Juice (Sinigang na Baka) is a sour beef soup. Usually, the tamarind is used for making the sour broth. I am using lemon juice with this recipe instead. Sinigang is a famous Filipino soup you may like to try.

    INGREDIENTS

    • Beef short ribs
    • Water
    • Chayote squash
    • Onion
    • Tomato 
    • Lemon juice
    • Ground black pepper
    • Lemongrass
    • Seasonings like knorr, MSG, or magic sarap (optional)
    • Salt
    • Bok choy (petchay)

    HOW TO MAKE THIS RECIPE

    1. In a large pot, put together the beef ribs, lemongrass, water, and onion. Bring to boil, then simmer for 1 hour or until tender.  Remove the bones if able.

    2. Add the chayote squash, tomato, and fish sauce. Let it simmer till chayote is tender about 15 minutes.

    3. Add the lemon juice, ground black pepper, seasoning, and salt.

    4. Add the bok choy and let it bring to boil once then remove from heat. (Do not cover the pot once you put the lemon juice to keep the bok choy from going brown)

    • 2 cups chopped chayote squash
    • 1 small onion chopped
    • 1 large tomato sliced
    • ⅓ to ½ cup lemon juice
    • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 1 lemongrass
    • seasonings like knorr, MSG, or magic sarap (optional)
    • salt
    • 2 cups chopped bok choy (petchay)
